Travel information for Vienna
All participants will travel to Vienna individually.
By Air
51 international airlines offer scheduled services to Vienna. There are several daily flights to the main European capitals and business centres. There are direct flights from 191 cities worldwide to Vienna. The Vienna International Airport is located east of Vienna and about 20 – 30 minutes away from the city centre (20 km).
You can travel to the city by:
Taxi: Outside the arrival hall there are taxis available (sign “Taxi” on the roof of the car). Driving time is about
20 – 30 minutes.
Average fares to the centre of Vienna 35 € to 40 €.
Train: City Airport Train (CAT):
The express rail link travels from the airport to the city centre (Vienna´s main city centre railway station – called “Wien Mitte”) every 15 minutes and takes a 16
minute ride (~17 € per person single ticket).
Regional Railway System S7 (Schnellbahn S7):
This train also travels from the airport to the main
city centre railway station. It leaves every 30 minutes in between 05:00 and 22:00 daily.
S7 needs 20-25 minutes to the city centre
(~4 € per person).
Bus: Several busses connect the airport with the city centre. At 20-minutes intervals, the Vienna Airport
Lines depart to the city centre between 05:30 and 24:00 daily. The travel takes around 20 minutes and costs ~ 10,- €.
By Train
There are frequent connections to all European Cities.

Vienna can be reach by several motorways from Norther, Western, eastern and Southern Europe. (Motorway signs are blue.)
From East: (Budapest) via motorway A4 from Nickelsdorf to Vienna
(Sopron) via motorway A3 to Vienna
From South: (Udine) via motorway A2 from Villach to Vienna
(Maribor) via motorway A9 from Spielfeld to Vienna
From West: (Munich) via motorway A1 from Salzburg to Vienna
(Regensburg) via motorway A8 from Ried to Vienna
